Brainstorm Day

Need a midweek pick-me-up? Here are 7 reasons why Wednesday brainstorms help morale…

For the longest time, we would schedule brainstorming sessions on Thursdays or Fridays thinking it was a great way to end the week. While that's true, a colleague of mine once suggested Wednesday and we haven’t looked back since, here’s why…

► [CREATIVITY] - Wednesday is often the most creatively-minded day, at least for Creative Teams. (The rest of the week they’re either getting out of or getting into the weekend).

► [AVAILABILITY] - Generally speaking, there are fewer “urgent” meetings on Wednesdays.

► [PRE-PLANNING] - Wednesday gives teams a couple of days to prepare and do pre-work in advance on their own.

► [POST-IDEAS] - Wednesday provides 2 days after the brainstorm to capture additional ideas (some of the best ideas come after a brainstorm is over).

► [RECAPS] - It gives the Brainstorm owner time to recap and share concepts or directions that might be moving forward.

► [MINDSET] - By Wednesday, everyone’s mind is already wrapped around the business needs and goals for the week, bringing in a more focused mindset.

► [EXCITEMENT] - As most brainstorms should be fun, it provides the team with a moment to look forward to in the week and can help get them through their mid-week blues.

🔥 BOUNS - [SNACKS] - A brainstorm isn’t a “good” brainstorm without some good brain food (ie. chips, coffee, and chocolate). Who doesn’t get a mid-week boost from coffee & chocolate with friends?
